New Haven Nonprofit Executive Joins Board of Directors
Kellyann Day will fill the Board seat of the late James E. Perillo, who passed away in August.

Kellyann Day Appointed to The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven's Board of Directors
New Haven, CT (October 9, 2014) - The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, the region's charitable endowment and largest grantmaker, announces that Kellyann Day of Cheshire, CT has been appointed to the Board of Directors. Ms. Day will fill the Board seat of the late James E. Perillo, who passed away in August; effective January 1, 2015, Ms. Day will begin her own six year term. The Community Foundation's Board consists of eleven members, appointed either by The Foundation's Board of Directors or by external appointing authorities as specified in The Foundation's charter. Ms. Day was appointed by Judge John A. Keyes of the Probate Court for the District of New Haven, CT.

"She has a deep understanding of the challenges faced by the neediest among us and has done an outstanding job for many years in building New Reach into one of the most effective and impactful local organizations in our region. I am delighted to welcome her to The Foundation's Board of Directors."
Kellyann Day has been the CEO of New Reach, Inc., formerly New Haven Home Recovery, Inc. since 1997. New Reach is the parent company of Life Haven, Inc. as of August 2012. Both organizations provide shelter, housing and stabilization services to vulnerable members of the community. Ms. Day attended the State University of New York at Plattsburgh and received a BS in Psychology and has a Masters of Social Work with a concentration in Administration from The University of Connecticut. Ms. Day has served as Chair to the Board of Directors of the South Central Behavioral Health Network, and the CT AIDS Residence Coalition. She has also served as the Chairperson of the Statewide Reaching Home Steering Committee and numerous boards throughout the state including: the New Haven Early Childhood Council, the CT Coalition to End Homelessness, New Haven Mayor's Task Force on AIDS, City of New Haven's 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness, Supportive Housing Works, United Way of South Central Connecticut, and the Greater New Haven Opening Doors, Regional Alliance to End Homelessness.
Thanks to the generosity of three generations of donors, The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven awarded $21 million in grants and distributions in 2013 from an endowment of approximately $430 million and comprising hundreds of individually named funds.
