Nature-Based Learning Center Launched
In 2010, The Friends of the Ansonia Nature Center was awarded a $40,000 grant through the responsive new grants process. The grant, made possible through the Gates Fund, enabled the Friends to create a nature-based, learning center that teaches children about sustainable living and instills a love of nature.
The Friends of the Ansonia Nature Center was awarded a $40,000 grant through The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven's responsive grant process in 2010.
The grant, made possible through the Gates Fund, enabled the Friends to proceed with the start up for the first year of operation of a preschool, nature-based, learning center in the Redwing Pond House located at the Ansonia Nature and Recreation Center. The Center believes this unique project will teach the next generation about sustainable living and instill a love of the fragile planet that we all share.
