Local Nonprofits Invited to Participate in 36-hr Online Giving Campaign

Local nonprofits are invited to participate in The Great Give® 2015. Participating nonprofits can earn special prizes in addition to the donations given online by individuals.

On May 5-6, more than $170,000 will be up-for-grabs in matching funds and prizes for local nonprofits that sign-up to participate in The Great Give®.

New Haven, CT (March 9, 2015) - The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, the region's permanent endowment and largest grantmaker to local nonprofits, invites local nonprofits to participate in The Great Give® 2015. Participating nonprofits can earn special prizes in addition to the donations given online by individuals. The Great Give® 2015 is the sixth major community-wide giving event on giveGreater.org® taking place for 36 hours starting 8:00 am on May 5 and ending 8:00 pm on May 6. Matching dollars and prizes will be provided by The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, the Valley Community Foundation, Alexion Pharmaceuticals and other generous community sponsors. Organizations interested in participating must register by April 7, 2015 at www.thegreatgive.org or by calling 203-777-2386.

Thanks to the generosity of three generations of donors, The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven awarded over $22 million in grants and distributions in 2014 and has an endowment of over $460 million through hundreds of individually named funds.
