Joan M. Crimmins Fund

A fund in memory of a beloved teacher, mentor and friend

Joan Crimmins

Joan Marie Crimmins was a teacher for over 50 years, at Bunnell High School before her retirement, and at Stamford Catholic, Waterbury Catholic, and Joseph A. Foran High Schools prior to that. Joan was also a writer and editor, contributing to several grammar and literature instructional guides and texts.

Joan's enthusiasm for news, literature, gardening, photography, and arts in general enriched her retirement years. The Bronx, NY native became a passionate Certified Master Gardner and served the Milford Garden Club for many years. She was also a lifelong reader, and a member of the Fantastic Book Club for over 10 years.

As a child of immigrant parents, Joan never lost her love for Ireland and her compassion for immigrant families.

In 2019, the Joan M. Crimmins Fund was established by friends and family in memory of Joan at The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven. To make a secure, online donation please click the button below.
