Tylon Ray, a graduate of Engineering and Science University Magnet School; attended his first Healthy Start meeting in September of 1998. He was 2 months old and 5lbs 14oz, which was just 2 pounds over his birthweight of 3lbs, 14 oz. During his adolescent years, he served as the Co-Chair of the NHHS Teen Sub-Committee a place where teens and pre-teens learned about health and making healthy choices. He also served as a NHHS Teen Baby Buddy where he was responsible on educating his peers on infant mortality and social determinants of health. Tylon has disseminated those learnings to over 100 of his high school peers. That's why Tylon is one of our #blackchampions4health.
